The Problem
Kobo Terminal is a Nigerian stock market platform with share prices, company disclosures, a dividend calendar, an unclaimed dividends checker, and an investor API. In 2026 the product rebranded from NGX Pulse and moved to a new domain.
A rebrand is one of the riskiest moments in SEO, because rankings, brand searches, and what AI assistants know about a product are all tied to the old name. Some of the most valuable pages were also rendered in the browser, so search engines and AI crawlers saw almost none of their content.
What We Changed
We managed the migration end to end: redirects, canonicals, sitemap coverage, and entity signals (WebSite and Organization structured data naming the former brand as an alternate name) so search engines and AI systems connect Kobo Terminal to the NGX Pulse history.
We audited Search Console week by week against the pre-migration baseline and isolated the specific leaks, including a stale canonical on the second-biggest page, missing canonicals, and pages search engines could not read.
We rebuilt the NGX dividend calendar to render on the server, with month-by-month archives, linked company rows, and FAQ schema. What Googlebot sees went from about 259 words and no stock links to more than 2,600 words and 128 stock links.
We refreshed the unclaimed dividends content and kept dividend coverage current from company filings, so the pages AI assistants fetch give accurate, up-to-date answers.
We kept AI crawlers fully open and treated ChatGPT's live browsing as a citation channel, not a cost to block.
The Result
ChatGPT's live browsing of the site stepped up from 400-850 page fetches a day to about 2,800 a day and held there, with more than 21,000 ChatGPT-driven pageviews in 30 days.
The unclaimed dividends checker grew from 130 to 390 weekly Google clicks, and the dividend calendar went from about 33 to 57 weekly Google clicks within days of the rebuild.
